Spring Break has to be every student’s favorite break from school. Middle of the semester, getting the warm seasons in and spending time with friends and family.
Normally my family goes to either Walt Disney World or on a Disney Cruise and we have been since 4th grade. This year, my family decided to go to Alaska. Many people don’t know that I was born in Anchorage and lived there for four years. Going back after many years was very strange.
I remember some parts of living there, but mostly it is just things friends and family have told me. We went to a chocolate factory and saw a chocolate fountain. I did remember that, but it was much smaller than I pictured.
I did attempt skiing… I went skiing when I was 8 and my family visited for a week. So, I had basically never skied before. I got comfortable on the greens and did a blue. It was all fun and games until I fell. I walked home after that and did not touch my skis.
The most fun part of the trip was snowmobiling to 10,000 year-old glaciers. Snowmobiling was hard on the body, but was incredibly exciting to go through the mountains and snow. The glaciers were incredible and were not as cold as I expected.
All in all, I really enjoyed getting to experience in Alaska. I got to make new memories of my own there and take incredible pictures. I would not trade the experience for anything.
